Using our site
You agree not to misuse the site, attempt to interfere with checkout or payment features, or use the site in ways that are unlawful or harmful.
Products, photos, and descriptions
We do our best to describe products accurately and show colours clearly. Because screens vary and many fibre supplies are naturally variable, colour, texture, and tone can differ slightly from what you see online. Product images and descriptions are for general guidance and may change without notice.
Inventory may be limited and some items may sell out quickly.
Prices, currency, and taxes
All prices are shown in Canadian dollars (CAD) unless stated otherwise.
Applicable Canadian sales taxes (e.g., HST/GST/PST/QST) are charged based on your shipping address and the tax rules that apply at the time of checkout.
We can correct pricing errors and may cancel or adjust an order if an obvious error occurred (for example, a misplaced decimal).
Orders and payment
An order is not accepted until it is confirmed/processed by us. We may decline, cancel, or limit quantities for reasons such as suspected fraud, inventory issues, or shipping constraints.
Payment methods are shown at checkout. If an order requires manual confirmation (such as special requests), we’ll contact you with next steps.
Shipping, local pickup, and delivery estimates
Shipping: We serve Canadian customers and offer shipping within Canada. Shipping costs vary by package size, destination, and service level. Any shipping charges are shown at checkout.
Local pickup: Pickup options may be available in Toronto (by arrangement/appointment), including at 19 Waterman Ave, Suite 202 and a Donlands/Danforth pickup-only location, when offered on the site.
Delivery estimates: Any delivery timelines shown are estimates only. Once a parcel is transferred to the carrier, delays can happen that are outside our control (weather, service disruptions, peak seasons).
Address accuracy: You are responsible for providing a complete and correct shipping address. If a package is returned due to an incorrect address or failed delivery, additional shipping charges may apply to re-send it.
Title and risk of loss
For shipped orders, responsibility for loss or damage generally transfers to you once the order is delivered to the carrier (subject to any carrier coverage and applicable consumer-protection laws). If something arrives damaged, contact us promptly so we can help.
Returns, exchanges, and final sale items
We want you to be happy with your purchase. Because many items are fibres and craft supplies, returns and exchanges must be unused, unwashed, and in original condition unless required otherwise by law.
Return request window: Please contact us within [7/14/30] days of delivery to request a return or exchange (choose the window you want to offer).
Non-returnable items (recommended):
- Items that are cut-to-order, custom bundles, or special orders
- Clearance/final sale items
- Gift cards (if offered)
- Digital products/downloads (if offered)
- Items that have been used or are not in original condition
Return shipping: Unless the item is defective or we made an error, return shipping is the customer’s responsibility. Original shipping charges are typically non-refundable, except where required by law.
How to request a return/exchange: Email monika@theolivesparrow.com with your order number, the item(s), and photos if relevant.
Damaged items, missing items, and order issues
If your order arrives damaged, incorrect, or incomplete, contact us as soon as possible and include photos of the item(s), the packaging, and the shipping label (if applicable). We’ll work with you on a reasonable solution (replacement, store credit, or refund depending on stock and circumstances).
Workshops, classes, and deposits
Workshops may be sold through our site and/or arranged directly.
Location: Workshops are held at 19 Waterman Avenue, Suite 202, Toronto unless stated otherwise.
Deposits: A non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a spot ($50 for full-day workshops, $25 for other workshops), and the balance is due on the day of the workshop unless we state otherwise.
Cancellations/no-shows: Deposits are non-refundable. If you can’t attend, contact us as early as possible. Depending on timing and whether we can fill the spot, we may offer options such as transferring your registration to a future date (at our discretion), subject to any stated deadlines.
Safety and participation: Some workshops are skill-level specific. Read prerequisites carefully and ensure the workshop is appropriate for your experience level.
Intellectual property
All content on this website (text, images, product photography, branding, workshop descriptions, and downloadable materials) is owned by The Olive Sparrow or used with permission. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute it without written permission.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Olive Sparrow is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or products. Our total liability for a claim is limited to the amount you paid for the product or service at issue (unless applicable law requires otherwise).
Craft materials and tools can carry inherent risks. You are responsible for safe handling and supervision where appropriate.
Privacy and marketing emails
If you subscribe to our newsletter, you consent to receive emails from The Olive Sparrow. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in our emails. We do not sell your information.
