Often, I work on dolls alongside each other for months without showing them. Working in groups is like making families. The current family is in preparation for the Cabbagetown art and craft show next weekend. Katia wants big girl clothes she tells me. Yes, she is not quite a little girl anymore. But when nobody is watching, she can giggle and snuggle and make the funniest faces. That’s just for us to know though….
Some boys love their hair wild. Jules certainly is one of those boys. He loves to surprise me with a new look every time I gaze at him. We’re having discussions about his clothes now… What do you think he should wear?
After the great reception last year of these sweet wooden buttons, I have expanded the inventory with lots of new designs. Now I need to find another antique wooden type drawer so I can take all of them with me to fall and winter shows. In the meantime, pop by the brick and mortar store to get some for your projects.
At our house we work with many different materials and technologies. The kid is using a 3Doodler to make a Pokéball for himself, while I am working on a doll. What is not in the picture is Morley the cat laying at our feet and Mishka the French angora bunny sitting in the grass. Oh, and the lovely breeze carrying the smell of the barley mushroom soup I made for dinner.
