Swiss Mountain Sheep wool (Walliser (Valois) Sheep). This fibre is sold in batt format. It is produced by a small family owned company in Switzerland. The sheep spend their summers up in the alps, using ancient old roman roads to travel. They fibres are dyed using solar energy to heat the water.
But that is just how it’s made – you will love this fibre for needle felting or wet felting. Because the wool has short staple length (2-4cm), it is very easy to make a solidly needle felted object. If used in wet-felting, this wool is perfect for the beginner and experienced felter alike to make items such as slippers, bags, home items. It makes a very closed felt.
The gorgeous, rich, deep colours come in 51 colours – 5 natural mixes (undyed) and 46 dyed colours. Also a wonderful wool for spinning and wool crafting.
